LOVE AGAIN: Chapter 2

A few shout-outs before anything else.

I would like to thank @Allen RN and of course @Randzmesia for being awesome as fuck and leaving comments on the first chapter. And since there are comments, I decided to post earlier than what I originally planned to. So eto na ang chapter two.

Chapter 2

THREE MONTHS LATER

Nagising akong masakit ang ulo. It was excruciating. I tried opening my eyes. Masilaw sa kwarto. I groaned.

I decided to get up. Naupo ako habang sinasanay ang mata ko sa ilaw nang makita kong may kasama ako sa kama.

Ahh, so that’s what happened.

“Hey, get up and get out.”, sabi ko rito habang niyuyugyog para magising. Nang magising ito ay inulit ko ang sinabi ko.

“What?”, takang tanong nito.

“You heard me. Umalis ka na.”, kalmado kong sabi rito. Tumayo ako patungong banyo. “I want you out of my apartment by the time I’m done with the shower.”

Narinig kong may sinabi ito. Somewhere between “Ungrateful bastard”. I smirked.

Simula nang mangyari ang panloloko sa akin ni Luke ay hindi na ako nagrelasyon pa. If I wanted sex, I could have it. But I always have my rules.

I don’t kiss.

I don’t let anyone stay after sex.

I don’t have sex with the same person twice.

Funny that rule number two is the one that always gets broken. Pero maliban dun ay wala na. I turned on the shower.

Naramdaman kong unti-unting nagrerelax ang mga muscles ko sa init ng tubig na nanggagaking sa shower. It’s always refreshing.

Nang makalabas ako ng banyo ay nakita kong wala na ang lalaking naka-sex ko kagabi.

Thank goodness.

Agad kong tinungo ang closet ko para maghanap ng maisusuot sa trabaho. I owned a small booking company. Well, not so small since it’s doing quite good.

I decided on a light blue button up shirt. Tinupi ko ang sleeves nito hanggang siko ko. Isang black na pantalon ang ipinares ko rito ang a pair of black shoes. Matapos magbihis at makuntento sa ayos ko ay naglagay  ako ng pabango saka kinuha ang susi ng kotse ko sa drawer ng bedside table saka umalis.

Pagdating ko sa office ay naroon na ang mga empleyado ko.

The good thing about being a boss is that you can show up late for work and no one can say anything about it. Hindi ko naman gawain ang ma-late. I’m usually early.

“Good morning Sir. Coffee?”, bati sa akin ni Jared. He’s my assistant. He’s also a friend of Rhoi. Siya mismo ang nagrekomenda kay Jared. Kaya naman ay agad ko itong tinanggap sa trabaho dahil malaki ang tiwala ko sa pinsan ko.

“Yes Jared, please and thank you.”, sabi ko rito saka dumiretso sa opisina ko. Actually, iisa lang ang opisina ko at ni Jared. Pero nahahati ito ng glass divider. I don’t like anyone disturbing me at work kaya naman I designed it like this. I gave full authority to Jared sa kung ano mang issue mayroon within the company. Pero kapag involved na ang mga kliyente ay ako ang nilalapitan nito. Which is okay with me.

“Alright. Dadalhin ko nalang sa opisina mo Sir.”, Jared said with a smile.

I smiled back.

Time flew by in the office. I barely noticed it.

“Sir?”, tawag ni Jared.

Nagtaas ako ng tingin mula sa pinipirmahan kong papeles.

“Do you have any more work for me?”, tanong nito.

“Uh, no. That will be all for today Jared. Salamat.”, sagot ko rito.

“Alright. Thank you Sir. I’ll see you tomorrow.”, sabi nito na nakangiti.

“Yeah well, I don’t think you have any choice anyway.”, I said smiling back.

His smile broke into a grin. There’s really something about Jared that I couldn’t put my finger on. I mean, hindi naman ito pangit. In fact I think with a wardrobe change, pwede na siyang maituring na isang eligible bachelor. Ngayon ko lang rin napansin na makinis naman ito. He also has a hint of muscles na nababakat sa suot nitong damit.

Yeah, he definitely needs a change of wardrobe. Right now, he’s wearing a white button-up shirt with red polka-dot na naka-roll ang sleeves. Tucked in sa dark blue nitong pantalon. He also has yellow suspenders and yellow shoes as well.  His eyes are also hidden behind those hideous glasses and his hair. For the lack of better term, napaka-baduy tingan.

He just waved and I got back to the papers on my table. Nang maka-ramdam ng gutom ay tiningnan ko kung anong oras na at nagulat ako nang makitang mag-aalas nueve na.

I decided to get out of the office and head to a newly opened restaurant located two blocks from the office. At dahil malapit naman ito, nagdesisyon akong maglakad nalang.

Nang marating ko ang restaurant ay pinagmasdan ko muna ito. It looked really nice. The beige colored walls are actually nice on the eyes. This is definitely a place you can go to when you want to relax. That being said, we’ll see how the food is.

Hindi naman ako pihikan sa pagkain. In fact, I love trying something new every once in a while. Just last week, I ate my very first balot. At kinain ko ang manok. And yeah, it did taste good despite its appearance.

Nang pumasok ako sa restaurant ay agad kong naamoy ang masarap na pagkai dito. And from that, I can tell that this will be a regular thing.

“Good evening Sir! Kayo lang po ba?”, agad na bati sa akin ng isang empleyado sa restaurant.

“Yes.”

“Dito po sir.”, sabi nito saka ako iginiya papunta sa isang table malapit sa isang sulok ng restaurant.

“Heto po ang menu sir. Your waiter will be here in within 10 minutes to get your order.”, sabi nito nang makaupo ako.

Tumango lang ako.

I decided to get just a regular steak. Maya-maya pa ay dumating na ang waiter.

“Hi sir. My name is Jared, maaari ko nap o bang makuha ang order nyo?”, sabi nito.

Agad akong nagtaas ng tingin nang marinig ko ang pamilyar na boses ni Jared. What was he doing here?

“Uhm. May part-time po ako rito sir.”, alangan nitong sagot.

“Shit. I just said that out loud didn’t I?”, tanong ko rito habang ramdam ko ang pag-init ng mga pisngi ko.

Damn. I don’t usually blush. Hell! I NEVER blush! So why now?

Naisip ko.

“Yes sir.”, nakangiti nitong tugon.

“Ahem. Well, I’m gonna get the regular steak. I want it well done. No side dish. For the drink, I’d like a Four Season’s smoothie.”, mabilis kong sabi rito upang itago ang pagkapahiya na nangyari.

He chuckled.

I looked up and I saw his cute face.

Damn!

“Alright sir. I’ll be back within 15 minutes with your order. In the meantime, please help yourself with some appetizer, it’s on me.”, sabi nito saka tumalikod papunta sa kitchen.

God! Why didn’t I see it before? He’s not just “eligible bachelor” material, he’s gorgeous! He looked really nice with his hair spiked up showing his light brown eyes and his cute face. He’s not wearing his normally boring eyeglasses and instead of that stupid outfit earlier, he was now wearing a simple and fitted white long-sleeved button up shirt with a black vest over it.  Black slacks and black shoes to go with it and he looked amazing! Bakit niya tinatago yun sa likod ng mga baduy niyang kasuotan?

Then it hit me.

He doesn’t want the attention. But why did he dress like that here if he didn’t want the attention?

I was distracted from my thoughts when Jared came back with my order.

“Here you go Sir. Enjoy your meal.”, sabi nito.

“Thanks.”

Ngumiti naman ito.

Tahimik akong kumain. And true to the look of the restaurant, the food is delicious. Dito lang ako nakatikim ng steak na pumatok sa panlasa ko.

Nang matapos akong kumain ay tinawag kong muli si Jared upang kunin ang bill saka nagbayad.

Nagdesisyon akong umuwi na at ipagpabukas nalang ang ibang mga papeles sa opisina pero dahil iniwan ko ang kotse ko ay nagsimula akong maglakad pabalik roon. Bago pa man ako makalayo ay narinig kong may tumawag mula sa likuran ko.

“Sir!”, si Jared.

“Oh, are you out of work already?”, tanong ko rito.

“Yeah, something like that.”, nakangiti nitong sagot.

Damn, if he keeps on smiling like that, I’m not sure I could stop myself from wanting to see that everyday.

He chuckled.

“Oh shit. Don’t tell me I said that out loud.”, sabi kong ramdam ang pamumula ng mukha ko.

“Alright, I won’t tell you Sir.”, sagot naman nitong mas lalo pang lumaki ang ngiti, if that’s even possible.

“Ughhhh!! Well, that’s embarrassing.”, sabi ko.

He had an amused look on his face.

“You know what?”, sabi ko rito. “I decided that I don’t want you calling me “SIR” when we’re off work.”

“Eh ano pong itatawag ko sa’yo Sir?”

I rolled my eyes.

“Like I said, no Sir. Drop the formalities. Tawagin mo nalang ako by my name.”

“Sabi mo eh. Mark Rindel it is then.”

And my name coming from him sounded so good.

Oh God.

Trivia: Mark Rindel is a name of one of our employees. Napag-initan ko lang ang pangalan nya dahil lagi siyang late mag-submit ng accomplishment reports, DTR and all that shit. Pala-absent pa. So I decided to use his name. I find it cute though. Hahaha! Pero nag-iisip pa ako ng apelyido. Suggestions? :D
