LOVE AGAIN: Chapter 6

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! So, first off, I'm going to apologize dahil sobrang natagalan ang pagpost ko ng chapter na ito. But I have my reasons. I have been very busy sa work. Preparing for the HRMP Regional Congress dahil kami ang host province. Thus, napakarami kong transactions na nilakad, from the venue to the tarps to the hotel reservations of over 500 participants of the said event. That was on August 14-16. 

So after the congress, syempre nagpahinga muna ako. Sobrang sabog ako nun eh.. HAhahaha. Then timing, pagbalik ko sa office, tambak na naman ang work dahil 3 days akong nawala. Then nag-payroll, then nagprepare na naman ng contracts for newly hired personnel.

So it's exactly a month since my last post. So I'm posting before pa ako magpayroll next week.. Sooooo, here you go guys. Chapter 6.

Chapter 5

“I didn’t want to lose what little pride I had left Jared.”

“And you chose to lose me instead.”

Jared’s POV

Oh  God! I need some air.

Dali-dali akong lumabas ng opisina at tinungo ang parking lot. Agad akong nagpunta sa restaurant.

“Good morning Sir!”, bati sa akin ni Carla na siyang isa sa mga waitress.

“Good morning Carla.”

“Maaga pa ho kayo ngayon Sir ah. Wala po ba kayong trabaho?”

“Ah eh, kinailangan ko lang lumabas sandali.”, sagot ko rito.

“Okay po. May gusto po ba kayong kainin?”, tanong nito.

“Wala naman. But a cup of hot chocolate would be good.”,sagot ko rito.

Ngumiti ito saka dumiretso sa kitchen. Pinili kong maupo sa sulok ng restaurant kung saan naupo si Rindel nang kumain siya rito. He doesn’t even know that I own this place. Nag-assume nalang siya na may part-time akong trabaho.

“Uhm, Jared?”, sabi ng isang pamilyar na boses mula sa likuran ko.

Laking gulat ko nang makilala kung kanino nanggaling ang tinig na iyon. It was Nick.

“Nick?”,tanong ko rito na tila ba hindi sigurado kung siya nga ito.

“Yes it’s me.” , sabi nito. Maluwang ang ngiti.

“Oh my god! Nicky!! I missed you! Kamusta ka na? Kailan ka pa nakabalik? San ka tumutuloy ngayon? Are you alone? Do you want to eat?”

Tumawa ito.

“Hey slow down. Isa-isang tanong lang.”, sabi nito.

“Oh right. Sorry. Maupo ka muna.”

Umupo naman ito sa harapan ko.

“So, what was the first question?”, tanong nito.

This time, ako naman ang napatawa.

“Kamusta ka na?”, pag-ulit ko sa tanong ko kanina.

“Eto, okay naman. Finally, lisensyado na.”

“I heard. Congratulations by the way. Should I start calling you Dr. Dominic Isagan?”

Muli itong tumawa.

“No need. Para namang wala tayong pinagsamahan niyan?”

“Nicky it is then!”

“So, next question?”, sabi nito.

“Kailan ka pa nakabalik?”

“Kahapon lang. I bought a place nearby actually.”

“Really? Wow! Buti naman pala kung ganun.”

“Yup, and then, I looked for you. So I asked your scary dragon friend, and here you are.”

“Loko! Krista ang pangalan nun! Hindi naman siya gaanong nakakatakot ahh.”

“Yes she is.”

“Nope.”

“Yes she is.”

“Fine, she may be a little bit scary. But she’s a good friend.”

“Yes. She also told me to not bother you because apparently you already have someone.”

Natahimik ako sa sinabing iyon ni Nick.

“Hey, I was just kidding. But I guess, totoo nga.”

I smiled. “No, not really.”, sagot ko rito. “I mean, I like someone right now, but we’re not together.”

“Then I guess I still have my chance?”, he asked. Hope evident in his eyes.

“I- I don’t think we should live in the past Nick. I mean, you had your chance.”

“It was a choice between you and my future Jared.  You have to understand.”

“No Nick. Hindi ko maintindihan. Dahil kung ang pag-aaral mo lang naman bilang doktor, kaya kong sagutin yun. You know I would have. But you still chose to leave me.”, I said. The hurt starting to show in my voice.

“I didn’t want to lose what little pride I had left Jared.”

“And you chose to lose me instead.”

“Jared naman. I wanted to give you a good future. That’s why I left.”

“No Nick. Umalis ka dahil sa pride mo. I think you should leave.”

“Let’s talk about this Jared.”

“We just did.”

Akma pa itong may sasabihin pero hindi na nito itinuloy. He just turned around and left the restaurant.

I decided on going back to the office at baka hinahanap na ako ni Rindel. I checked my phone to see if there are messages and sure enough, may limang missed calls from Jared.

I called him back.

“Where are you? Kanina pa kita hinahanap, kailangan ko ang inventory ng hotels and resorts for Palawan.”

“I’m sorry Sir. I went out for a bit and ran into an old friend. I got caught up in the conversation pero pabalik na ho ako Sir. I’m just around the block.”, paghingi ko ng paumanhin rito.

“Alright. Just make it quick.”

I pressed the end button at binilisan ang paglalakad.

Nang marating ko ang opisina ay agad kong kinuha ang kopya ko ng inventory. I also saved a soft copy of the file para maibigay kay Rindel.

Maya-maya pa ay pumasok ako sa opisina nito.

“Sir, andito na po ang—“

Natigilan ako nang makitang naghuhubad ito ng damit.

“Oh right. Please put it on the table. And can you help me out. Natapon kasi ang kape ko sa suot ko. I need to get some clothes. Go with me to the department store.”

It wasn’t a request. He wants me to come along with him.

But I was a bit preoccupied with his body. It was nicely built. May muscles pero hindi yung sobra. Just right. If I had to compare, his body resembles that of Rodjun Cruz. But of course, I don’t actually see it. May t-shirt pa naman itong suot. But you can guess from there.

“Jared?”, tanong nito sakin. A smirk growing on his face.

“Ah, I’m sorry. Ano po yun?”

He chuckled.

“I said, samahan mo akong bumili ng bagong damit sa mall.”, pag-ulit nito.

“Ah eh, o sige po. I’ll get my keys.”

“No. No need. We’ll take my car.”
